LGBTQ+ Support

Tuesday, May 11, 2021 - 22:00 to Tuesday, August 31, 2021 - 22:00

My name is Ellen and I am the Children and Young People’s worker for ELOP- a LGBT+ Charity based in Walthamstow. I wanted to get in touch in case you are working with a young person who may benefit from our support. Due to COVID 19 we have moved all our youth services online and offer support across London and the surrounding Essex boroughs. We are currently running:

  • Youth Out East is a youth group for LGBTQ+ young people aged 12-18. The sessions are a safe space to make friends, enjoy fun activities and discuss issues. They run every TUESDAY evening on zoom at the following times:

➢ 12-15’s 5-6.30pm

➢ 15-18’s 7-8.30 pm

  • Our 1:1 Mentoring Service for LGBTQ+ young people aged 12-18. ELOP’s mentoring service is designed to be a safe & supportive space for a young person to explore their LGBTQ+ identity. Our aim is to help a young person develop strategies & goals which are often around the theme of building confidence, self-acceptance and helping a young person to take pride in their identity. The sessions are free & are held either on the phone or zoom.
  • Our Young Adults Group is a support group for LGBTQ+ young adults aged 18-25. The sessions are a safe space to make friends, enjoy activities and talk all things LGBTQ+. It runs twice monthly every 2nd and 4th Monday evening at the following time:

➢ 7-8.30 pm

If a young person wants to get involved with any of the above they can email youth@elop.org or call 07908 553744. They can self-refer or you can refer on their behalf. I have attached an information document that summarizes our youth service & our posters.

If you want to follow us on Social Media and share any posts that may be useful for your young people that would be much appreciated. Out twitter handle is: https://twitter.com/ELOP_LGBT and Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/elop.LGBT

Please do get in touch if you have any questions.

Thank you for your time,

Best wishes
